The term "Hridroga", which we find in ancient texts of Ayurveda, is literally translated from Sanskrit as "heart diseases", however, not all diseases described in this category are really cardiological. And vice versa – in the description of other types of disorders, one can find pathologies of the heart.

• Has a teaching experience of more than twelve years. He completed BAMS from SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi and M D in Roganidana from Govt Ayurveda College, Kannur, Kerala;
• Before his current tenure as an educator, he served as a medical officer, in the Department of Indian Systems of Medicine, Government of Kerala for 5 years;
• An active clinician and clinical educator, Dr Mukesh has to his credit, several published papers in national and international journals;
• Also he had delivered talks in various seminars in India and abroad. In the year 2013, he had visited southern states of USA as a part of Group Study exchange program and delivered orientation talks on Ayurveda at different conferences;
• He is a regular faculty in Ayurvedic Training programs, research workshops and also an editorial member in leading scientific journals;
• He is also the Director of Kottakkal Ayurveda School of Excellence (KASE), which offers certificate programs aimed at providing continued, innovative and functional learning for Ayurvedic practitioners.
