According to Ayurveda, any constitution type can be susceptible to heart diseases. Animal fats and heavy oily foods occupying a central place in a diet, along with a sedentary lifestyle – all this makes heart diseases a new pandemic for modern civilization.

We invite you to study in the field of Ayurvedic Cardiology. During the course you will:

  • analyze the etiopathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases from the perspective of Ayurveda;
  • study of symptoms of diseases of the nature of Vata, Pitta and Kapha;
  • learn the principles of treatment of diseases such as hypertension, coronary heart disease, pathology of valves and chambers of the heart, arrhythmia, atherosclerosis, heart failure;
  • overview of the methods of preventing heart disease in Ayurveda.

The course materials are based on the authentic manuscripts of traditional Indian medicine (Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, Ashtanga Hridaya Samhita), as well as on the data of modern cardiology.

Dr. Mukesh E.

  • Professor, Department of Roganidana, Vaidyaratnam P S Varier Ayurveda College, Kottakkal;
  • Has a teaching experience of more than twelve years. He completed BAMS from SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi and M D in Roganidana from Govt Ayurveda College, Kannur, Kerala;
  • Before his current tenure as an educator, he served as a medical officer, in the Department of Indian Systems of Medicine, Government of Kerala for 5 years;
  • An active clinician and clinical educator, Dr Mukesh has to his credit, several published papers in national and international journals;
  • Also he had delivered talks in various seminars in India and abroad. In the year 2013, he had visited southern states of USA as a part of Group Study exchange program and delivered orientation talks on Ayurveda at different conferences;
  • He is a regular faculty in Ayurvedic Training programs, research workshops and also an editorial member in leading scientific journals;
  • He is also the Director of Kottakkal Ayurveda School of Excellence (KASE), which offers certificate programs aimed at providing continued, innovative and functional learning for Ayurvedic practitioners.
