In this course, you will get an introduction to the basic principles and concepts of health in Ayurveda. This course is not a license to practice Ayurveda but to understand its scope in maintenance of health as well as prevention and management of disease.
Taking responsibility for one’s health is one of the key messages of Ayurveda and this course will introduce the participants to the concept of Prakriti (physical and mental constitution) and the imbalances of doshas (vikriti). The basic lessons of choosing a life style and diet in accordance with one’s constitution, place and season will be taught in the course.
The course will also enable you to understand how Ayurveda understands pathogenesis of disease and plans treatment for diseases and what is the scope of Ayurveda in the management of common diseases. The course will give an understanding of the multi modal approach of Ayurveda to treatment that includes internal medicines, external therapies, diet and lifestyle.
This online program is a preparation for a three week residential course in India.
