This is what you will know after the course:

  • General introduction to Dravyaguṇa Śāstra;
  • Main principles of describing Western herbs from the perspective of Ayurvedic properties, which you will be able to use in your practice;
  • Sacral descriptions of such terms as “Rasa, Guna, Virya, Vipaka”, their relation to Agni as the basis for creating a constitutional (individual) herbal formula.
  • Explanation of the various forms herbs come in and how each affects the channels and tissues differently;


  • Some secrets from Atreya Smith’s personal experience of using medicinal herbs that can substitute some of the classical Ayurvedic writings;
  • Detailed account of the most common Western herbs and how to use them according to Ayurveda;
  • Practical recommendations for preparing different forms of medicinal herbal formulas.

The course will be useful for anyone who is interested in Ayurveda or already practices it and would like to deepen their knowledge on Ayurvedic pharmacology.

Also it will be useful for yoga therapists who prefer the holistic approach and want to combine methods of Yoga and Ayurvedic herbal therapy.
